Short drama brief, Nov 5: China clears 11,000 'AI remix' videos, NBCUniversal co-leads $80M for India's EloElo, and what AI drama teams should check
China News Service reported on November 2 that major online video platforms removed more than 11,000 'AI remix' videos in October, focusing on reworkings of the four classic Chinese novels, historical and revolutionary subjects and heroic figures; around November 4, Indian microdrama company EloElo announced an $80 million Series C co-led by NBCUniversal, Hujing Wenyu launched its Jingrui AI production platform, Wondershare's drama tool joined the WorkBuddy agent platform in public beta, and Taobao's short-drama arm released brand-sponsored dramas made with Alibaba's Wan3.0 for Singles' Day. Teams making AI short dramas or comic dramas can use this to audit any AI adaptations of classic material first, then decide whether to trial a new production platform or take on sponsored work, while writers of English-language vertical drama can note new buyers in India and the US. There is no published rule on where an 'AI remix' crosses the line, and the cost and conversion figures come from the companies themselves; we tested none of the tools.
